The Colony

The Colony is a good-sized group of FeatherClan exiles, black-winged cats. They are mostly aggressive and revenge-seeking but others are only group members for the sake of their safety. This group has existed since the second litter of raven-winged kittens was born and outcast. They were mean and hateful, but soon others were exiled. These joined the others, and now they were named, they formed a ranking system, and they mated. More kits were born with similar traits. This group has only grown; soon its menacing force will threatened to devour FeatherClan from existence.

The Ranking:

Chief; Leader, usually a tom, chooses his successor and deputy. They are separate rankings. Chiefs may have more than one mate if desired, but his first chosen mate must agree, and neither may be neglected.

Successor; Successors contribute nearly nothing to the colony except for their fighting skills. It is the Second-in-Command’s job. Successor is almost always a tom, and they are chosen to lead after the chief dies.

Second-in-Command; The Deputy, usually a she-cat, sometimes Chief’s mate. They to not succeed the Chief. They only help to keep order in a clan.

Healer; There may be several of these cats, rather than learning defense from their mother before exile, they choose to learn about herbs and medicine, after joining the colony they are taught several simple defense and fighting moves.

Kitten; A newborn cat

Newling; A kitten in training, they are assigned a fighter or semi fighter to teach things to them. Their teacher may differ daily. Second-in-Command may bring groups of Newlings out and teaches them of the colony’s past, family trees, legends and other things important to their religion and faith.

Semi Fighter; These are Newlings that have been inspected and are qualified. They are great fighters, and they are usually very young. Semi Fighter’s may still have a teacher even after their ceremony.

Fighter; A fighter is, obviously, a cat who fights for the colony. Fighters may hunt and take on the duty of training a Newling or Semi Fighter if they please. These may advance to other ranks too. Like Senior Fighter, Successor, Second-in-Command, Ancient, or Provider.

Killer; Though the rank suggests malice, these cats are usually gentle, tom or she-cat, instead of becoming a Semi-Fighter they become a Killer, and primarily hunt for the colony. They may fight if they like. Usually Healers are also Killers.

Provider; Providers are cats that only supply kittens. They may be toms or she-cats. They will choose a mate for life and mate together. They may become a life Provider, or only temporarily.
Ancient; An Ancient is an elderly cat that can no longer hunt nor fight. Ancients may become healers after their ceremony. They are the eldest of the colony, so they are treated with utmost respect.
